Couples Counseling

Mahnaz Sadre, Ph.D. provides in-person appointments in Frisco, TX, and online appointments throughout Texas through a HIPAA approved online medium (Zoom)

Factors and stresses of everyday life can put enormous strain on a relationship. Severe stressors may include resentment, infidelity, intimacy issues, lack of trust, miscommunication, lack of respect, poor boundaries, and trauma history. When problems go unresolved, or a partner is suffering from mental illness or health complications, one can feel helpless or have feelings of guilt or shame. Communicating effectively on both sides can alleviate emotional distress and anxiety from subjects of all kinds.

Couples often seek marital therapy or couples counseling when the relationship is at a standstill, or if they are unsure whether or not the relationship is worth salvaging. This type of therapy can benefit families with children who have been affected by relationship issues such as abuse, separation or divorce, and confront the source(s) of conflict.

Treatment techniques may include but not limited to the following depending on the therapist's preferred model of therapy, training, or style:

• Gottman Method

• Narrative Therapy

• Emotionally Focused Therapy

• Family Systems Theory

• Solution-Focused Theory

• Positive Psychology

• Imago Relationship Therapy

• Analyzing Your Communication Style

• Getting to the root of the problem

• Enhancing Intimacy

• Individual Counseling

• Couples' Retreat

When your relationship is affected by addiction, physical or emotional abuse, sexual abuse, and/or severe depression, seek guidance from a counselor immediately, for your safety and the safety of your partner.
